This week we had an overview on the components of a five-paragraph essasy. The covered issues slides are accessible by click on the following PDF file image. After reviewing the presented points about the five-pragraph essay and grammatical points you can move to the next part and complete grammar activites. You can send your answers privately to the tutor to evluate your undersatnding. Afterwards, you can put your comprehension towrad five-paragraph essay in practice by writing an essay based on the instruction mentioned in the "Your Mission" section.

Your Mission:

Now that you became familiar with the components of a five-paragraph essay, it's better to refine your previous activity. To do so, extend your opinion about the situation of the world (Click here to see the main task) in a FIVE-PARAGRAPH essay and post it till the next week's session. Don't forget to make comments on your friends writings and provide them feedback.  

 Check your essay through the following checklist:

  What is the general topic of the paragraph? What is the specific topic?

  Do all the sentences relate to one topic? If not, which sentences has extra information? 

□ Is the first word of every sentence capitalized? Does every sentence end with correct punctuation? 

  Did you notice an error in subject-verb agreement? If so, try to correct it and refine your text.
